What’s happening at your club?
Have fun and make new friends by joining Wisemans Ferry Womens Bowling Club.
Our regular bowls day is Wednesday. So give it a go!
We meet at 9:30 – 10am in the Club auditorium.
We play Club Championships annually and the 2016 Major Singles and Minor Singles were taken out by the same person. No easy feat! But it goes to show anything can happen in the game of bowls.
Our ladies range in age, our eldest, Dyras Thompson, retired from bowls in 2016 aged 101 and sadly passed away later that same year. She has been a huge inspiration to us all and is greatly missed. Margaret Middleton also retired from bowls at the end of last year. We thank her for her years of participation and achievements within our club.
Wisemans Ferry Women’s Bowling Club hold an annual Charity Day with items that have been generously donated from many of our local business people, as well as by our members and local residents. All proceeds go to charity (we select different charities each year) and to local groups. Check our calendar for this year’s events.
In May 2016, we celebrated 50 years of Women’s Bowls with dignitaries from Women’s Bowls NSW, Nepean District and clubs within the district. We enjoyed some great food, great weather and a light-hearted game of bowls on the day. We now have our sights set on 60 years!
